The Friday 56~ The Rose Society

It’s time for another edition of The Friday 56, a weekly meme hosted by Freda’s Voice.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Link up.

This week I chose to feature The Rose Society by Marie Lu.

The Rose Society (The Young Elites, #2)

“He laughs at the hesitation in my voice. With a grandiose half bow, he jumps onto his feet and spins once on the beam, like he is dancing. It looks effortless. ‘Don’t be stupid,’ he replies. ‘No two Elites have the exact same power.'”

Book Beginnings~ It Ends With Us

I’ve added some additional memes to my repertoire and am linking up with Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.

This meme is a fairly simple concept, we share the first line or so from a current read. This week I’m featuring It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover.

It Ends with Us

As I sit here with one foot on either side of the ledge, looking down from twelve stories above the streets of Boston, I can’t help but think about suicide.

Woah! That’s a powerful opening!
