October Blog Ahead 2017

The amazing Anna from Herding Cats & Burning Soup is once again hosting the Blog Ahead Challenge! Anna is the person who inspired me to start blogging ahead, and through her philosophy and mini challenges, I have actually scheduled all of my memes for 2017 {with the exception of TTT topics not yet released}. In fact the only posts that aren’t currently scheduled are my recaps {because they haven’t happened yet haha} and reviews for books I haven’t finished.

So, you may be asking, what the heck is the Blog Ahead Challenge? Anna says it best:

The GOAL? Up your number of scheduled posts by 30 in one month

Any completed and scheduled posts counts.

The catch? The posts must be dated November 1st or later. They cannot go live in October and count towards the event.

On Oct 1– you have 1 scheduled post
On Oct 31–  you have 31 scheduled posts
I’ll be starting to work on memes and discussions for 2018 this October because I know my November and December are going to be crazy at work and want to be as prepared as possible for a new year on the blog. I have two work trips in October and hope to be moving at the end of the month, so it’s not going to be easy… but it should be fun!

The Friday 56

The Friday 56~ Paper and Fire

It’s time for another edition of The Friday 56, a weekly meme hosted by Freda’s Voice.

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Link up.

This week I chose to feature Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine.

Paper and Fire (The Great Library, #2)

“She was right, of course, but he wished, futile as it was, that the Library could be what he’d always believed it to be as a child: the light of knowledge, the protector of science, arts, history– a force for great and eternal good.”

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop #9

I am linking up with Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer for the Book Blogger Hop. And what is the Book Blogger Hop? Well according to the meme’s page:

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s question:

Do you participate in The Bloggiesta? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

While I don’t always participate in Bloggiesta, I do try to participate in at least one of the mini events throughout the year. I am generally not able to participate in the Twitter chats due to work and the fact that I’m on the west coast, but I like to plan out completing behind the scenes projects on my blog during Bloggiesta time.

Book Beginnings

Book Beginnings~ Island of Glass

I’ve added some additional memes to my repertoire and am linking up with Book Beginnings, hosted by Rose City Reader.

This meme is a fairly simple concept, we share the first line or so from a current read. This week I’m featuring Island of Glass by Nora Roberts.

Island of Glass (The Guardians Trilogy, #3)

They met on the high hill, far above the world, beneath a sky struck with the dazzle of stars and a white, waiting moon.

So pretty…
