I am linking up with Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer for the Book Blogger Hop. And what is the Book Blogger Hop? Well according to the meme’s page:

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s question:

Who is your favorite horror/suspense author and why? (submitted by Kitty @ Vicarious Bookworm)

I don’t have a favorite horror/suspense author as this is not a genre that I enjoy. I do read Romantic Suspense, but that’s quite a bit different..

This week’s question:

Both Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Marry Shelley’s Frankenstein are considered classics. Have you ever read either of them? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

I have to confess that I have not read either one. I am just now starting to read more classics, but I have never really been into horror {and I’m definitely not into vampires}. I have considered reading Frankenstein, and I do know the general storyline, so I may add it to my TBR down the road.

This week’s question:

Have you ever slept with a favorite, beloved book under your pillow, or cradled in your arms? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

I would have to say no, I haven’t slept with a favorite book in my arms or under my pillow, but I have fallen asleep with my current read on more than one occasion… and my Kindle can usually be found in the corner of the bed most nights.

This week’s question:

In regards of Banned Books Week (www.bannedbooksweek.org/), what are your favourite books that has been banned or challenged? (submitted by Kristin @ Lukten av Trykksverte)

There are so many that it’s hard to pick a favorite! The Harry Potter series, obviously, is one of my favorites, and they have all been challenged. Mark Twain’s work is also fantastic and both Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn have been challenged. To Kill a Mockingbird continues to be one of my favorite books that I read as a child. And I love John Green’s books, most of which have been challenged as well. I could probably keep going and list a lot more!

This week’s question:

Have you ever bought a more expensive edition of a book, when a cheaper edition was available, just because you preferred the cover of the more expensive one? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

No. While I have purchased books because of pretty covers, I would rather buy the less expensive book than have a specific cover. I look for sales and discounts so that I can purchase more books overall.

This week’s question:

Have you ever bought a book because you liked its cover art? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Absolutely! I often buy books based on their covers, or sometimes based on their titles, or even the title font! I am very rarely disappointed!

This week’s question:

Do you participate in The Bloggiesta? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

While I don’t always participate in Bloggiesta, I do try to participate in at least one of the mini events throughout the year. I am generally not able to participate in the Twitter chats due to work and the fact that I’m on the west coast, but I like to plan out completing behind the scenes projects on my blog during Bloggiesta time.

This week’s question:

Have you ever read a book written in a foreign language you might be fluent in, and then read the same book in English? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

I have not, mostly because I can’t read {or speak} any other languages fluently. Just books written in English or translated to English for me.

This week’s question:

When you enter an unfamiliar house or apartment for the first time, do you feel disappointed if you don’t see any bookshelves, or books on the coffee table? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

I have never really thought about this to be honest. I know that I feel a certain kinship when I walk into someone’s home and it’s full of books, but I don’t think that I’ve ever been disappointed when they didn’t have books. I come from a family of non-readers and am used to homes without books, so that probably plays a part.

This week’s question:

Do you participate in readathons and/or reading challenges? (submitted by Kristin @ Lukten av Trykksverte)

Yes, definitely! I am participating in a whole slew of reading challenges this year! I want to participate in more readathons, but my schedule has made it difficult to do so. My preferred style of readathon are those that run for 24 hours or a weekend, and unless I can arrange to have the time off, I just can’t do it. I have joined up where I can though.
