This week’s question:

If you celebrate Christmas, do you feel the need to stop reading anything but Christmas-themed romances as the holiday season starts? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

As I mentioned last week, there are several Christmas books that I read every year, but other than that I continue reading my regular stuff. I don’t necessarily save holiday themed books for the holiday season… I’ll read them pretty much whenever.

This week’s question:

What is your favourite Christmas-themed read? (submitted by Kristin @ Lukten av Trykksverte)

I have several books that I read {or try to} every year in December. My absolute favorite is Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. I’ve read it every year since I was a kid. I also read the poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas every year on Christmas Eve. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve added a variety of Christmas poetry books and such, and also found The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus by Frank L Baum which is fantastic.

This week’s question:

What’s your immediate feeling when entering a bookstore, as compared to how you feel when entering a department store? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

When I enter a bookstore I’m excited and slightly anxious {in a “will I be able to stay within my budget” kind of way}. There are so many possibilities and everything is beautiful and the shelves are so neat and there’s the scent of books in the air and I can touch them! And yeah, I’m like a kid in the candy store.

When I enter a department store, all I can think about is how soon I can get back out again. I work in retail and prefer to spend as little time as possible in stores {aside from the previously mentioned bookstores}.

This week’s question:

If you had an author-only Thankgsgiving party, who would you invite? (submitted by Kristin @ Lukten av Trykksverte)

Let’s see… this could turn into a long list with some very different types of authors in attendance:

Nora Roberts, Jayne Ann Krentz, Suzanne Brockmann, Cherry Adair, John Green, Rick Riordan, Matthew Quick, Elizabeth Gilbert, JK Rowling, Sophie Kinsella, Jen Lancaster, Cassandra Clare, Eoin Colfer, Jennifer Niven, Jay Kristoff…

I could go on, but I think I’ll cap it at 15.

This week’s question:

What is your favorite part of blogging? Is there a least favorite part of blogging? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

Hmmm… this one is a toughie.

I think my favorite part of blogging, at least in the book blogging world, is the community. For the most part I have found the community of book bloggers to be welcoming, supportive, friendly and fun. I also enjoy sharing my favorite books, some of which crop up repeatedly in the different memes I participate in. I also enjoy finding new authors that I’ve never tried before through other bloggers. So I guess what I’m saying is I love everything about blogging? Or at least being a book blogger?

Is there a least favorite thing? Maybe spam comments, but I have a spam blocker so they don’t interfere with my comments… and some of them are pretty hilarious. And server issues suck, but I thankfully don’t have that many of them. I’ve had a couple of security issues in the past, but not in this blogging life. So there’s really nothing that I really don’t like about blogging.

This week’s question:

When reading a book, do you use a bookmark to mark your place in the book, or do you just fold over the top corner of the page? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

I generally use a bookmark, though if I can’t find one I will use anything {a strip of paper, the top of a cat treat package, a receipt, a picture, an advertisement, whatever} to mark my place. Folding over the the page is a serious no-no in my book and can inspire very severe reactions if someone does it to a book I own.

This week’s question:

Candy Corn, a chocolate bar, or Popcorn. Which of these snacks are your favorite to eat while reading? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks, though I always make sure to have plenty of napkins if I’m eating it while reading so I don’t get too much grease on the pages {or smudge my Kindle}. I try to avoid chocolate while reading due to the messy factor.

Off the book topic – What is your favorite scary movie? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

I don’t like scary movies, so I don’t actually have a favorite.

This week’s question:

Who is your favorite horror/suspense author and why? (submitted by Kitty @ Vicarious Bookworm)

I don’t have a favorite horror/suspense author as this is not a genre that I enjoy. I do read Romantic Suspense, but that’s quite a bit different..

This week’s question:

Both Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Marry Shelley’s Frankenstein are considered classics. Have you ever read either of them? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

I have to confess that I have not read either one. I am just now starting to read more classics, but I have never really been into horror {and I’m definitely not into vampires}. I have considered reading Frankenstein, and I do know the general storyline, so I may add it to my TBR down the road.
