Bookish Communities

Exploring Bookish Communities #3

This past month I started venturing into the real life bookish community in my area. I visited the bookstore near my work. Of course this is a big chain bookstore, not an independent or used bookstore {both of which I love}, I just haven’t found any yet. Of course now that I have my own wheels, I’ll be exploring a bit more and finding new places.

So my local big book store is conveniently located across the street from the mall where I work. So trips there may be just a bit too easy {especially since I spent $200 the last time I was there}. But they have a good selection. It was a bit loud in there while I was visiting, but it was story time and there were a lot of kids there. It also made it quite busy at the register, but I didn’t have to wait too long.

In addition to children’s story time, the book store also hosts readings periodically and does a lot of promotion {readings, signings, etc.} for local authors. So far I haven’t been able to attend any of these due to my schedule, but I’m hoping to be able to attend some events in the near future.

Do you have a favorite book store?
