Monday Update, Stacking the Shelves, Sunday Post

My Week in Review 2018 #2

This is my week in review, where I update you on my life~ reading, blogging and general. I will also be linking up with some amazing blogs.

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Life Happenings:

This week has been a struggle. And that just pretty much sums everything up. It hasn’t been bad, just really stressful and exhausting and I think my brain is just too full right now and needs a break. I have been so focused on taking care of things at work and trying to unpack everything at the apartment that I’ve forgotten to take care of myself. This is a huge no-no for me, because it’s partly through self-care that I manage my depression and anxiety. Thankfully I caught it early, I think, so I can adjust and get back on track where I need to be.

That being said, reading did not happen this week… so I am already way behind for the year, but I think I can catch up as soon as I get this apartment done. At this point I think I’d settle for one completed room! The bathroom and kitchen are really close to done, but I need to purchase things to finish both of them. The bedroom is about half-way, but the living room, office, dining room area is no where close to done. I need to purchase things for those rooms too. Thankfully most of what I need to buy is not too expensive, but I still need to budget for them right now. I can’t decide which bigger piece I should get first though… a microwave for the kitchen, a curio cabinet for the livingroom {I have 4 small boxes to be unpacked of things to go in there}, or a fourth bookcase for the bedroom {right now the books are stacked in front of the books on one of my other bookcases}. The only other higher priced item I need is a new comforter and sheets, but I can make do with what I have for now.

  1. It’s hard to make time for self-care when you have too much on your plate. But like you, I find I need to make time for it, otherwise everything falls apart. Hope you get your apartment organised soon, as that sounds very stressful. On the other hand, you’ll be delighted when it’s all done.
Hope you have a less demanding week this week, and find time for reading. I find that to be a great form of self-care, especially if I light a candle, and stick on a face mask. So relaxing!

  2. Good luck with getting your apartment settled. I have a love/hate relationship with moving. I love the fresh start and the encouragement it gives me to get rid of things I have not needed or used in years, but I hate spending the money. I liked You’re Welcome Universe. I liked the friendship angle Gardner took and the incorporation of Deaf culture into the story. Hope you enjoy it.

  3. Hope you get everything situated with the new place. We are in the process of looking for a new house, and I am not looking forward to packing up and moving. It stresses me out. Right now, I am going back and forth to my doctor, adjusting my medicine. My cycles are changing to quickly and it is awful. So, I understand what you mean by not getting any reading done and everything piling up otherwise. Take care of yourself and I hope you get feeling better. Have a great week.
